(Another) One more year down…

Happy Birthday, me (Nick)!

So here I am one year older. It was an incredible year and I’m so excited that this time next year I’ll be holding lil’ Tadpole as I make this post. God is good and my family is wonderful. You know it’s true that the older you get, the less “umph” your birthday has. But thinking about it now as my “Big Day” this year is winding down, it’s not the day that is special but the days that make up the year with the people who matter most to you that you remember.

Okay, I’m done being sentimental, I’m sure I’ll be introspective again this week. For now, I’m going to play my new Classic NES Edition GBA SP. Later, and Happy Birthday to me. God bless, everyone.

Vacationin’

Ah, the goodness that is vacation, you just can’t beat can you? Well it can be beat, pretty easily in fact, if you have a crazy family that you need a vacation to recover from the vacation… but thankfully that’s not our case.

We just spent a very wonderful, thankfully relaxing weekend in Gulf Shores with Lisa’s family. There was much goodness to abound, but more or less, it was just nice to be able and relax and not think about a schedule or due dates. Ah, nice. Sadly the vacation has to come to an end… I came home yesterday and Lisa is on her way home today. But still, sometimes it’s the little things and even the amount of time we had was awesome.

One more year down…

Happy Birthday, Lisa!

It’s going to be a big year for Lisa! The baby is coming and she’s growing right along, our second anniversary is coming up, and who knows what else God has in store for us. We know there are huge things coming and we’re just getting ready for what God would have us do.

Lovin’ my little tadpole.

So I end up just staring at my desktop for hours at a time now. Why do I do this, you ask? Just look below and you’ll know. That is the wonderful image I see everytime I look at my computer screen. Not too bad, eh? Yeah, I didn’t think so either.

I will say this, some friends should not be allowed to have Photoshop. They came in with proof this AM that the kid was going to look like me. It wasn’t pretty, I’m praying the baby had Lisa’s looks and my gender. So there, I said it. Later.

Peanut Pics!

blog_baby.jpg

Heck yeah! That’s my kid! Granted it looks more like a tadpole than the peanut mentioned earlier. Either way, I still don’t care because that’s the most awesome blessing of my life. That’s my baby!

A few details for those of you who don’t know what all the garbledygoop around the pic means (not that I know it all, the lady just told us). The baby is 1.67 centimeters, Lisa is 8 weeks along, and WE HEARD THE HEARTBEAT and it was 175 beats per minute. Yeah, so I’m a little excited!!!

Peanut!

I’m going to get a picture of a peanut. Well, it’s a picture of my baby, but everybody says it looks like a peanut. Or a blob. Frankly I don’t really care because I know it’s my baby! Hoo-wah! I’m a little excited. You can tell, no?

First appointment down.

I know it’s kind of late blogging this, but Thursday was a long day and I tried to stay offline this weekend. :) Anyway… here we are on Monday.

Lisa’s first appointment for the pregnancy was last Thursday and all went well. Of course I had no idea what to expect, but the doctor was happy so there’s me assuming that all went well. There is a funny story about a passed out Lisa. All I’ll say is that any appointment she has blood taken from now on, I have to go just in case she needs to be a catcher. :) Good funny, well, it’s funnier now at least.

But yes, all was well and Lisa’s doctor was happy with everything. We got a tentative due date of December 5th and we have a sonar appointment in three weeks. Anyway, that’s all for now. I’m sure there will be more news and babbling to come soon but it’s been a long two weeks and I have to get back to work.

One last bit of joyous news, Jiffy went to live with her new family on Saturday. A wonderful family with two children, ten and five, who wanted an indoor dog took her home to love and enjoy. Meanwhile back at the batcave, it was wonderful being able to sleep through the night, go to church, and not have to worry about getting home because we were afraid Jiffy had once again proven herself the World’s Greatest Escape Dog and was now running loose, causing doggy-havoc in the neighborhood. Sam is seeming to adjust to being the only dog, loving all the time he gets to spend inside now. :)

The Best News!

I can’t believe it, I told myself that I was going to wait until April 1st to drop this little bit of news on the website and I actuallly managed to pull it off!

We’re having a baby!

Hoo-wah! We just found out this past Saturday and I don’t think I stopped smiling until yesterday. Of course then I started right back up smiling again. It’s so exciting, but scary at the same time. Nothing will be the same, but everything will be so much better, it already seems to be better. Not that I don’t love my life, but now I really have something to live for. I can’t put into words how happy I am, and all the things going through my head. It’s simply wonderful.

Here we go.

We’re back! The rumors are true and all that jibberish, NickandLisa.com is back online. We’re so very excited about having the website back online. We hated all the time we were offline more than we can say. More than that I hated always saying, “Coming Soon…”, and never delivering. But, as we all know too well, things happen. My apologies none the less.

But enough of the past, here we are at the brand new site. I hope everyone like the layout, it’s a slight modification to an old layout that I just really liked and when I couldn’t settle on anything new I liked I decided to resurect this one. In addition to the (in my humble opinion) lovely new-ish design, we also have some new site features. We added a Guestbook courtesy of MegaBook, a Message Board that was an installable feature courtesy of our webhost, and in addition to the Journal now powered by Movable Type, we have also added a Photo Blog that’s also powered by Movable Type. Fun, fun stuff. There’s also some updates to older stuff that was present in the older versions of the site and a few new sections just For Fun. For anyone who may wonder, some of the older Journal entries were lost in the switch over both to the new host as well as in the change over to Movable Type. That’s about it for site news and updates, and I really guess that’s all for this entry.
Thanks for stopping by our site, we hope you enjoy it. Be sure to sign the Guestbook, and feel free to chat us up on the Message Board. God bless!
